How to Create a Drupal Blog
Quick how to Create a Drupal Blog... using Drupal :)
- Enable Blog Module in Core (administrator >> site building >> modules)
- Set up Taxonomy (administrator >> content management >> taxonomy) This will allow you to set up vocabularies. Set up a new vocabulary and call it "Categories". Be sure to select "Blog entry", and that way it will show up every time you create a new entry.
- Once saved you will want to add some terms from the new "Categories" vocabulary you set up. These are items that relate to the major topics you will be covering on your blog (i.e. Onsite Optimizations, Offsite Optimizations, Company). Take some time to think this through, or simply follow these steps again to create more terms.
- Now create your first Blog Entry (create content >> blog entry). Be careful what you name this, as Drupal takes this as your Title for that page.
- Copy and Save the URL path.
- Now you will need to link this page to your main navigation (administrator >> site building >> menus >> primary links >> add item). Paste the URL path in "Path", select a Menu Title (i.e. Blog), click Save.
